W.C. Heiam Medical Foundation - in support of the Cook Hospital

The 11th Annual W.C. Heiam Medical Foundation Benefit will be held on August 26th at Ludlow's Island Resort. Last year's event was an overwhelming success. The Benefit raised $44,909 for the Heiam Foundation! The theme for this year's benefit is "A Lake Vermilion Luau."

The 10th Annual W.C. Heiam Medical Foundation Benefit was held at Ludlow's Island on August 21, 2003.

Almost 160 people participated in the event which included entertainment provided by Randy Wall and the Pedersen Brothers, delicious food, and silent and live auctions. The 132 auction items included a Starcraft boat, a Canadian fly-in fishing trip, a flight in a Cirrus airplane, Hawaiian vaction, artist's prints, hotel and motel gift certificates, a houseboat tour, guided fishing trips, custom built pine furniture, theater tickets, restaurant gift certificates, wine tasting events, fitness memberships, a garden bench, manicures, pedicures and many, many more items. There were baskets complied from the spring gift gathering parties that included many different themes.

The auction items inspired competitive bidding. The evening succeeded in raising $44,909 for the hospital foundation – a record for the 10 years the foundation has been having the event! The board thanked everyone who attended or supported the event through contributions or donations.

Sally Ludlow was presented with a Waterford vase in recognition of her serving 10 years as Heiam Foundation President.
