March 15, 2007 Foundation welcomes Dr. Fleury to Cook
Dr. Albert Fleury has joined the staff of Scenic Rivers Health Services, which provides physician services to the Cook Hospital. The Scenic Rivers clinic in Cook has been searching for a physician for two years following the departure of one of its doctors in 2004.
Fleury grew up in Maine and attended college there. He earned his medical degree from the University of Paris, France. He has practiced medicine in Maine, Massachusetts, Texas, Wyoming and Hawaii. Prior to accepting the position in Cook, he worked as an internal medicine physician at Range Medical Services in Virginia.
Fleury, 60, and his wife Arinta have two children, nine-year-old Fabi and four- year-old Daniel. He also has a 19-year-old daughter in Texas from a previous marriage. He and his family currently reside in Aurora, but hope to move to Cook where he plans to enjoy his favorite pastime - dog sledding. Fleury owns 18 sled dogs and hopes to find a place near Cook where he can train and exercise his dogs.
Fleury joins Dr. Joanne IntVeld and Dr. Harold Johnston at Scenic Rivers Health Services. The clinic will continue to search for a fourth physician to join its staff.
