October 25, 2005 Heiam Foundation helps fund hospital's $5 million expansion
W. C. Heiam Medical Foundation officers, President Sally Ludlow and Treasurer Dale Lundblad, presented a check for $24,855.50 to Cook Hospital administrator Al Vogt, to help fund the hospital’s $5 million expansion, which is scheduled to be completed this year.
This check is the proceeds from the live and silent auctions and raffle held at the foundation’s annual benefit Oct. 1. This donation is in addition to the $10,000 the foundation gave the hospital this year to purchase 12 Welch Allyn 767 diagnostic systems for the new hospital rooms.
The goal of the W. C. Heiam Medical foundation is to create a $2 million endowment fund, which would sustain its annual contribution and allow the foundation to increase its contributions to support the hospital. This year the endowment fund has grown to over $850,000.
Those wishing to support the W. C. Heiam Medical Foundation by making a cash donation, volunteering to help with its fund-raising events or donating an auction item for this year’s benefit, may contact director Vicki Esterby at 666-6210 or write to: W.
